The designer of this bookseller's label had aspirations and an allegorical turn (larger view). Found in a Hebrew grammar published in Germany in 1857 (and stood on the shelves of a local library by 1910). More new labels here, including an early 20th century Indonesian bookbinder's label for which I could use some help in translating.
